Silent Sorrows III: Tristeza's Revenge
By A.L.M from the site http://silentsorrows.wordpress.com/
Introduction
A helicopter was flying in the air, 2 miles from its destination. Inside were two Police officers, an Investigator, a Gypsy, and a Taxi Driver. Each were in there for the same reason, which branched off into different reasons. They were looking for the legendary city of Corazón del Fuego. Inside the city were the siblings of Amanda, a little girl found 2 years after the incident that separated her family from her. Now, in the summer of 2006, Dr. Thompson (Investigator for the Ligsunburg Police Investigations) questioned the 4 people who might have known more about Amanda (now 7 years old)'s family. Tony Rubio (Taxi Driver) and (Tia) Lucinda (Gypsy Bar-Tender), had accompanied the Doctor, along with Police Officers Mayes and Ford, while the 2 other suspects had both burned in separate fires. Time was running out. ----------
Chapter 1
Wind was pushing against the small helicopter as it searched for the city of Corazón del Fuego. "Any sign of it, Luna?" Asked Officer Adam Mayes of the L.P.I. to Tia Lucinda. "LUCINDA, L-U-C-I-N-D-A, and no, I have not found the city..." "You think that's it ov'r der?" Mister Ford, another officer, asked while trying to light a cigarette.
He was referring to a large building, surrounded by fog, up ahead, looking much like a church. "Good timing," Tia Lucinda said, seeing the fuel on empty. "Looks like this bird is out of food." The 'chopper slowly floated towards the ground, scraping against the side of a tree, facing the entrance to the deadly city. The members of the helicopter got out, one by one, each shivering in the wind. Dr. Thompson looked towards the city, seeing a blue motorcycle with white lightning strikes on the sides parked by the gate. Was somebody else here? He pulled out his cell-phone, searching for their location, to which the G.P.S. read back "Undefined". No signal either... Mister Ford rose up from his seat last. "Best split up, considering how big this small town is," he said, looking around. Tia Lucinda said that she could go with Dr. Thompson and Tony, while the officers went together, to which everyone agreed to. They opened the gate, and felt strangely sorrowful as they walked inside the city. ---------- A figure was running down a hallway of an old hotel, with molding walls and dusty floors. The figure kept going in and out of each room on the 4th floor, following a strange noise. The figure stopped in the 8th room, when they saw a man tied, feet and hands, laying face down on a bed, obviously gagged. The figure poked him on the head, turned him over to see that he had just awoke. The figure saw that he was struggling in the dark, and turned on the light-switch. He was a tall 6'1, in his early thirties and thin, with long, black hair, a black mustache that hung down from his face, and had a long goatee. His brown eyes matched his brown shoes and pants, held by a rusting buckle next to his brown jacket. He looked up to see a woman, almost as tall as him, with long, brown hair in a pony tail, possibly in her late twenties. All she was wearing was a black bra, matching her boots and miniskirt, that seemed to slide lower and lower down her thin waist after each move she made, slightly revealing a black thong. She was wearing blood red lipstick, matching her nails, and smiled at the man as she cut the ropes bonding the man's hands and feet together with a pocketknife. He rubbed his hands, and looked at her with a smile. "Aei Yei Yei! What movie did you come out of, Señorita?" He asked with a Latino accent, to see her laugh as a response. "The name is Jack, and what may I call you?" "Call me Liv," she said with a Brooklyn accent. "Liv...?" "-Freeordye," she said with a wink. "That's a pretty strange name for a hottie like yourself." "I never said it was my name, I said you could call me that," she said with a laugh, with Jack smiling back. "So, you are here just like the rest of us, Amiga? You're here to find a loved one, ey?" "I'm not looking for someone, but I can see where you're going at. Now you tell me, why were you tied up like that?" "I'll explain it later, but for now, we need to get out of here." Liv tossed him a Mauser C-96 7.63mm. "Agreed."
Chapter 2
"If all else fails, and we have no way of making it out, I want you to remember what we came here for, and that, even though we did not succeed, we know that one day, this terror that has swept our lands will one day be succeeded, and we will be up in the Holy Lands, smiling." ---------- Liv started first, and ran down the hallway, much to Jack's pleasure. She got to the end, and started up the stairs, as she put her finger around her own Maucer. When Jack finally caught up to her, she was Silent, mouth open, looking like she was about to cry. In the middle of the room they had stumbled upon, there was a bed, with pale white sheets across it. There was a large lump in the middle of the bed, with the sheets covering it. But what startled them the most, was where the sheets touched the lump, they has turned a bloody red. The cause was obviously the long, sharp knife, curved like the crescent moon, stabbed right in the middle of the lump. Whatever the lump was, something, or someone, was dead. "I saw something similar to this downstairs," Liv said, choking up tears. "But it was a baby's crib," and she started to cry tears of agony and pain. "The gente de la ciudad must be worse than I thought...," Jack sighed. "So you... know?" Liv asked softly. Jack turned to face her, sorrows in his brown eyes. "A year ago, when Miss Katrina hit my small town in Louisiana, she took my house and familia, but, Thank God, an old friend of mine offered me to stay at his place in California, until they fixed my house, which they never did... "It was a year ago, my friend keeps muttering 'Corazón del Fuego, Corazón del Fuego...' over and over. Then, one night, he goes missing, so I go to the police, tell them everything, but once they hear about this, how you say, Godforsaken town, they laugh at me, telling me to go home," Jack said, slamming his fist against the dresser nearby. Looking apologetically towards Liv, he continued. "After weeks of waiting, I get on my motorbike, and drove for miles and miles. I finally find the cit, only to see a couple of women praying in an old Cathedral, with smashed windows and odd hangings everywhere. I kindly ask them if they've seen my friend, and they turn to face me. Their clothes looked as old as mummy's, and their eyes, oh! The eyes! They looked as though they were bleeding out from their eyes! "They yell at me 'Ningún hombre entra dentro sin una causa! ¡Fuera de aqu í!', and then grabbed me with the strength of a python, and tie me up. They carry me all the way here, cursing at me for walking upon them. They finally drop me off here, where I sat for a couple of hours, until you showed up... "So, to answer your question, yes, I do know of them," Jack ended. "Then we better get a move on," Liv declared. "I thought I saw a helicopter land nearby..." ---------- Snow was packing up on the bodies of two officers, the second group of police involvement to come to the lonely town they had wound up in, due to a fire in the offices where they worked. "Mister Ford, where are we going exactly?" Officer Mayes asked. "You were always the curious type, Adam. Just follow my lead, eh? We'll get there eventually..." "And where is that?" "Anywhere, but here." ---------- On the other side of the town, a gypsy, a taxi driver, and an Investigator passed by an old store, looking like a place where they sold old-fashioned clothing. The investigator, Dr. Thompson, pulled out his phone, trying to call his partner, Nancy Henderson. "You've reached the voice mail of Miss Henderson, please leave a message by pressing 3, or wait until the tone. For additional service, press 5 now...... *Beep*" "Nancy? Nancy, it's me, Tom. We got here, but-" "Give me that," The Taxi Driver said, grabbing the phone. "I need 5 blankets, twenty dollars, a ham sandwhich-" Dr. Thompson took the phone from him, seeing that the call had ended. "There are more important things then food, Mr. Rubio! You have to remember why we are here!" "Deh spirits, I can feel their presence...," The Gypsy, Tia Lucinda, whispered. "They lead us to the family... for a price..." "I say we follow the bar-tender," Tony said, referring to Tia Lucinda. "She knows this town more then any of us." Dr. Thompson, remembering the flames that scorched his offices, sighed. "Then we better get a move on..." ---------- Liv and Jack were outside, looking around at the footprints in the ground, quickly being buried by the snow. "More of those Townsfolk," Liv said. "Or more people..." "I honestly don't think we're the only sane people here...," Jack humorously said. "We better follow these tracks while we can, whether they lead to good or bad..." "Now that I think about it, how do you stay warm in that clothing?" Liv laughed. ---------- Dr. Thompson, Tia Lucinda, and Tony were walking inside what looked to be an old hotel, with molding walls and dusty floors. They were hearing strange noises, odd chants, something in Spanish... They walked all the way to the 8th floor, where they found Mister Ford, obviously beaten across the forehead, holding onto the railing of the stairs. Dr. Thompson ran over to him, and realized that Mister Ford was alone. Where was Officer Mayes? "The people... the eyes...," Mister Ford coughed up slowly. "They took Adam as we walked through, thought he was a Spaniard..., beat me half to death with a-," he coughed some more, blood dripping from his mouth. "Don't you worry, we'll clean you up...," Dr. Thompson said, trying to figure out what to do. Mister Ford put his arms around Tia Lucinda and Tony, trying to get him to the helicopter, where he could rest. They walked down to the 5th floor, when Mister Ford fell to the ground, laughing without a cause. "No time for jokes, we gotta get you back," Tony told the man. "AHAHAHA, IT HURTS! IT HURTS SO BAD!!!" Tia Lucinda eyes widened, as an insect came out of Mister Ford's coat. He quickly stepped on it, and another as it came. Another, and Another. She realized what was happening. "Run! Get away! Dis man ees goin' to kill us all if we don't move!" Tia Lucinda yelled as she pushed them into a nearby room, as she shut the door, and locked all 3 of them in. Dr. Thompson opened the door slightly, to see millions of red and black insects taking over the body of Mister Ford, still laughing in pain. Then they all scurried around, leaving the dead body. Time was definitely running out...
